How to Select the Right Cable & Panel for Submersible Pumps
A submersible pump’s performance depends heavily on its cable and control panel. Use 3-core copper cables with the correct gauge (usually 1.5 sq mm to 6 sq mm depending on HP). Undersized cables cause voltage drop, overheating, and motor burn. Waterproof joints are essential to prevent moisture damage. A good control panel must include MCB, overload protector, capacitor, and voltmeter. Automatic panels with dry-run protection offer extra safety. Always match capacitor rating with pump HP; wrong values reduce starting torque and damage the motor.
